1. Dr. Nancy Foster Scholarship Program
Application Period: February 13, 2006 – April 18, 2006
Description:
The Dr. Nancy Foster Scholarship Program provides support for outstanding
scholarship and encourages independent graduate-level research in oceanography,
marine biology, or maritime archaeology, particularly by women and members
of minority groups. Dr. Nancy Foster Scholarships carry a 12-month stipend
for each student of $20,000 and an annual cost-of-education allowance
of up to $12,000. Masters students may be supported for up to two years,
and doctoral students for up to four years. About four scholarships are
awarded each year.

2. Social Venture Partners Seattle Announces Environment Grant

philanthropy and volunteerism to achieve positive social change in the
Puget Sound
region. SVP is committed to giving time, money, and expertise to create
partnerships
with not-for-profit organizations.
To be eligible for funding, an applicant organization's managing staff
must be
located in King County of Washington State. In addition, applicants must
be
classified as a 501(c)(3) public charity or as a public school or school
district.

3. Budweiser Conservation Scholarship Program

Anheuser-Busch <http://www.anheuser-busch.com/> and the National
Fish and Wildlife
Foundation <http://www.nfwf.org/> are seeking applications from
graduate and
undergraduate students in the United States for the 2006 Budweiser Conservation
Scholarship Program. This competitive scholarship program supports and
promotes
innovative research or study that seeks to respond to today's most pressing
conservation issues.
To be eligible for consideration, a student must be a U.S. citizen at
least 21 years
of age and enrolled in an accredited institution of higher education in
the U.S.
pursuing a graduate or undergraduate degree (sophomores and juniors in
the current
academic year only) in environmental science, natural resource management,
biology,
public policy, geography, political science, or related disciplines. Recipients
are
eligible for one year of scholarship support.
