WHAT is Dance Marathon?
Dance Marathon is the largest, student-run philanthropy event happening on college campuses around the country. Students come together in teams to raise money for Children’s Miracle Network hospitals. The highlight is the actual Dance Marathon event, a night of fun, dancing, food, games, prizes and playing with the kids from All-Children’s Hospital. The USF DM raises money specifically for All-Children’s Hospital in St. Petersburg.
WHEN is Dance Marathon?
Teams work all year to raise funds for DM. But as for the big event…USF DM 2009 is being held Saturday, March 27th from noon to 5am.
HOW LONG is Dance Marathon?
USF DM 2009 is going to be the LONGEST Dance Marathon yet… 17 hours! This is to represent the 17 MILLION children treated at Children Miracle Network hospitals each year. So get excited because you are going to be making USF history as part of this campus tradition!
DO I REALLY have to DANCE for 17 hours?
NO!! Your 17 hours will be filled with MUCH more than dancing…Dancing is a part of the 17 hour event but there will also be theme hours, food, games & activities that teams can take part in to win prizes, raffles and performances by a number of bands and student performing groups throughout the night! In addition, you will have the chance to meet families and children who have been treated at All Children’s Hospital.
HOW DO I get involved with USF DM 2010?
Join the fun by joining a Dance Marathon Team or joining one of our committees. This could be anything from joining the street team to helping keep teams informed about events and fundraising opportunities. If you are interested, contact the appropriate executive board member in charge. Go to the contact us page. To create or join a Dance Marathon Team go to helpmakemiracle.org/event/usfdm. WHERE DOES our Registration and Fundraising money go?
Every penny that your team donates through registration and fundraising goes directly to the children at All Children’s Hospital. This money is going to the construction of a brand new hospital being built in St. Petersburg to expand the services available to families and their children. No child is ever turned away at All Children’s Hosptial regardless of ability to pay.
