"Firedreams" Ethnic Background: Chilean Date of Birth: July 23, 1979 Major: Pre-Med/Biology Interests/Hobbies/Activities: My interests are dancing, music, arts, traveling, reading, learning, LPsiD, and anything that helps me grow intellectually and to become a better person in this world. Why did you join this Sorority? What attracted you to Lambda Psi Delta Sorority, Incorporated?: I would have to say that what attracted me the most about LPsiD is that it is a multi-ethnic sorority in which women of different backgrounds come together and embrace the same goals, beliefs and desires forming an everlasting bond. I would also have to say that it fascinated me the personal challenge of becoming a founding sister of Epsilon Chapter and taking part in its creation and growth at USF. But above all, I joined LPsiD because it is an organization that strongly believes in community service, cultural awareness, intellectual development, leadership, and the empowerment of women. Motto: Work to overcome your weaknesses. If you don't risk anything, you risk even more. |

What attracted you to Lambda Psi Delta Sorority, Incorporated?: I don't have any biological sisters, so I wanted to experience that special bond with people whom I know will be in my life forever. Sisterhood is a great bond between two people and is very precious especially when one does not have biological sisters. In Lambda Psi Delta, I found a group of women who would do everything and anything to help each other out. That to me is the greatest and most precious thing in the world. Besides the unity, I like the diversity of the women in the organization. All of my life I've had friends from a variety of backgrounds, but I never appreciated the richness of each culture until I joined the Sorority. The fact that the organization is multi-cultural/multi-ethnic is what caught my eye. Motto: "Experience is a hard teacher because she gives the test first, the lesson afterward." - Vernon S. What attracted you to Lambda Psi Delta Sorority, Incorporated?: I joined Lambda Psi Delta Sorority, Inc. because I found a new desire to make something that was my own and I have been able to do that thanks to the sorority. I think what attracted me most to LambdaPsi Delta, was her youth, and organization so young, allows more room for growth and change. Also the fact that it is a lifetime commitment, makes me look forward to see where she will be years from now. Motto: "What the Heart has won, Love has not lost." "DARE TO DREAM." |

What attracted you to Lambda Psi Delta Sorority, Incorporated?: The reason I joined Lambda Psi Delta Sorority, Inc., was to be more involved in my school and community. I was also looking forward to the challenge of being a part of the creation of the Epsilon Chapter. What attracted me the most was the presence of a culturally diverse group of women who have come together in eternal Sisterhood, Our Five Tenets, and the challenge of founding the Epsilon Chapter at USF. Why did you join this Sorority? What attracted you to Lambda Psi Delta Sorority, Incorporated?: I joined the sorority because I have always believed that this world is composed of many different cultures and people and the only way to live in harmony is to embrace them as one! I belive in diversity and I was not going to nurish only my race, but also the race of other women that belive in making a change for our future and that of our new generations to come. The strong diverse women that founded this organization attracted me to Lambda Psi Delta Sorority, Inc. ALso, their beliefs, as in our five tenents and the fact that they did not shut their doors or their minds to just one group of women, but rather they embrace all women as a whole. "Dulce Pinai aka Wisdom" Ethnic Background: Filipino/Caucasian Date of Birth: May 4, 1980 Major: Engineering Interests/Hobbies/Activities: I enjoy learning about new things, traveling, cultural events, community service, and spending time with the people I love. Why did you join this Sorority? What attracted you to Lambda Psi Delta Sorority, Incorporated?: I had always had the typical stereotype of a sorority girl in my head, and if you would have asked me if I would have joined a sorority during my early college years I would have had quickly responded, "No." But then my best friend and now sister, Emily, introduced me to this organization and I saw something different from that stereotype. Being bi-racial and quite conscious of cultural issues, it was very impressive and important to me that Lambda Psi Delta Sorority, Inc. acknowledged the belief of cultural awareness. With the motto "Sovereignty to the Community", I also saw the opportunity to do more than belong to a sisterhood but give back to our community. That was another very important aspect to me since if and when we are willing and able and have been blessed ourselves, it is our duty to give back and help others. Motto: "Progress not regress." |

What attracted you to Lambda Psi Delta Sorority, Incorporated?: Lambda Psi Delta Sorority, Inc. is a service based organization and I like participating in events which help my community. I am a military brat, so I moved around alot in my life and am used to learning and being around people of different cultures. This organization has diverse cultural backgrounds in which all are celebrated. Lambda Psi Delta has also showed extreme interest in each of us so we felt wanted.
