The baseline energy consumption for each hall is assumed to be 100. The goal is to stay as far below that baseline as possible. Each hall starts at 0 and energy consumption is added to the start value on a weekly basis. Think of it as a race, but the slowest player wins!

A Conversation on Green Building on Friday, November 14
The hot weather last week made for a tough week for ConservaBull, but we do have some savings to report.
Maple A and B update - Maple B took a big hit this week in the chilled water sector (A/C use): almost a 40 percent increase from the previous week. Meanwhile, Maple A showed us why they are a top-tier Hall, posting the only net savings from week to week.

- Maple A showed a 1 percent net savings!
Consuming Less (wk5 - wk6)

- Zeta showed a 30 percent decrease in hot water use!
Tips
- Only 14 days left. It's crunch time! (Be sure to check the website next week.)
- When you leave the room, make sure your lights, computer, and A/C are off!
In a week where many residence halls showed little improvement, Maple B brought an impressive 18 percent week-to-week savings to the table. Additionally, Theta has put two solid weeks together; 11 percent savings last week followed by 13 percent savings this week.
Maple A and B update - Maple B is looking like a strong contender for the Second Half Hall Competition (see Annoucements for details). After a huge Week 4, they followed with an equally impressive Week 5. Maple A may not be posting huge week-to-week savings, but they are still in 3rd place.

Tips
- Check out the Vampire chart. (Thanks to Andrew for sending it in.)
- Remember that 74% of your energy use goes to the air conditioner! (most potential savings)
- Keep your roommates involved. (Second Half Hall Competition is up for grabs!)
Cooler weather continued and decreases in energy occurred across the board. The top three were shaken up by a much improved Maple A . The girls of Castor continue their attack for the top three, and are now only 1.1 percent behind Maple A.
Maple A and B update The electric usage in the halls was close, but Maple B recorded a 15 percent decrease in total energy use. This huge reduction came mainly from a 20 percent reduction in chilled water (A/C use).
MID-TERM report card
Maple A Maple A and B, have brought some excitement to the competition with great savings. After moving into 3rd place this week, all Maple A has to say to B is: scoreboard.
Maple B - Maple A has gotten the better of B during the first few weeks, but week 4 was a statement win. Can Maple continue this during the second half of the competition?
Beta Although running in the middle of the pack, Beta has put together an impressive week 4 (13 percent savings). Their electricity numbers may provide grounds for further improvement.
Castor Hall According to many, this is the most impressive hall so far. At ~360 residents they are easily the largest hall in the competition. They have kept themselves in the chase, but will they have enough to get into the top tier?
Delta Great showing, early in the competition. Past few weeks have been grey.
Epsilon A middle of the pack hall, leaning towards a run for next level?
Eta A "vanilla" first half has set up for a big second half of the competition. But do they have what it takes?
Iota Some call Iota the doormat; others call them the caboose. I see them stepping up in weeks to come. Mid-term announcements will spur this hall to bigger savings. (Sleeper pick for most improved)
Kappa A rather uneventful first half puts them in the middle
can we see something?
Kosove A back of the pack hall that outperforms their ranking. Look for them to move up.
Lambda A slow fall from the top. This hall started strong and progressively faded. They are still a force to be reckoned with. They held first for how many weeks?
Mu Another back of the pack hall with a decent upside. Have shown steady improvement. They need a statement week.
Theta 11 percent total energy savings this week. Glad you could join us.
Zeta Solid performances week after week. This hall has what it takes to stay number 1. Good luck.

- OPEN THE WINDOWS, TURN OFF THE A/C, AND ENJOY FLORIDA!
- Make sure you don't leave your window open if you are on the first floor. Safety first.
