We want to attend the CDC's International Conference on Emerging Infectious Diseases
in Atlanta, GA!
ICEID conference held by the CDC once only every two years! This is a huge
opportunity to see and meet people working with the infectious
diseases from around the word. Because of budget constraints IDA will not be
able to pay for its members, therefore all members attending will be
responsible for their own lodging, food (except those provided by the
conference, conference fees ($200 if done early) and a portion of the gas
costs. IDA officers have volunteered to drive. The details currently are as
follows:
1) Leaving Saturday or Sunday the 15th or 16th of March.
2) Arrival is Atlanta, Ga.
3) Hotel has not yet been confirmed but it is being worked on (the ICEID conference is being
held at the Hyatt regency and the cost will be 159 per person or 169 for double
occupancy. Hence we are working on some other alternatives for you if this is
too expensive.
4) Attend the International Conference on Emerging Infectious Diseases from Sunday
the 16th to Wed. the 19th until 4:30 (I have attached the schedule on the blackboard site along with more information)
5) after the end of day will give us a fantastic opportunity to see the site of Atlanta! Some of
the current considerations are the aquarium and CNN center, which are actually
within walking distance of each other.
6) return to Tampa on Thursday the 20th.
