NCBI recognizes the need to provide students with a supportive, yet appropriately challenging experience where they can genuinely understand and confront issues of diversity and multiculturalism, the Office of Multicultural Affairs offers two hour, four hour and one-day Welcoming Diversity workshops. We can create a custom NCBI Welcoming Diversity workshop for your team, group, class, or organization. Our staff will work with you to design an interactive workshop that will educate, energize and unite your team! All of the NCBI Welcoming Diversity Workshops will be facilitated by a culturally diverse team of trained USF students and staff members.
The National Coalition Building Institute (NCBI) Welcoming Diversity Workshop consists of a series of interactive activities that help participants:
- celebrate their similarities and differences
- recognize the misinformation they have learned about various groups
- identify and heal from internalized oppression
- claim pride in group identity
- understand the personal impact of discrimination through the telling of stories, and
- learn hands-on tools for dealing effectively with bigoted comments and behavior.
We GUARANTEE that this workshop will be one of the most impactful experiences your students will have at USF- They will never be the same!
