Shriner's Hospital For Children

At Shriner's Hospital for Children, PAMSA members have the opportunity to interact with the patients while earning community service hours. Activities range from arts and crafts projects to playing billiards, basketball, video games, and other fun games.

Active Minds

In Active Minds the goal is to service the USF community by promoting mental health awareness, education, and advocacy. Active Minds has a new peer counseling training program that will provide an excellent opportunity for students who is interested in helping their community.

American Cancer Society's Benjamin Mendick Hope Lodge

At Hope Lodge, Pre-Med AMSA volunteers share their time with cancer patients. The activities include movie, bingo, and "pot-luck' night. The goal of this volunteer opportunity is to help cancer patients and their families relax at the end of a physically and emotionally taxing day.

Family Support & Resource Centers

The North Tampa Resource Center , located on Fowler Ave, is where PAMSA members can directly reach out to the Tampa Bay community through child immunizations, tutoring programs, and other community-betterment projects.

Project Return

Project Return is a drop-in center dedicated to improving the quality of life for people experiencing mental illnesses. Adult education, music education, art therapy, and motivation are some of the classes available for the members at Project Return. The center can use student assistance in any class offered. Students looking to give back to their community will find Project Return to be a very warm friendly environment and will never want to leave.

Crisis Center of Tampa Bay

The Crisis Tampa of center allows Pre-Med AMSA volunteers to work for their ElderNet program and participate in other arrangements to help local senior citizens. These programs include ElderNet (where members telephone certain senior citizens to brighten up their day), the Holiday Gift Program (where volunteers deliver donated gift baskets to unassisted seniors), and cleaning and painting the interior and exterior of seniors' homes.
