What is
MEMBERSHIP RECRUITMENT?

Membership recruitment and interest meetings are opportunities for you to meet members of the Greek system in formal and informal settings. The Panhellenic Council (NPC) and the Interfraternity Council (IFC) host a week-long experience for you to get to the heart of the organizations and learn about their traditions and goals. This is a mutual selection process. As you are examining chapters and determining which has interests similar to your own, the chapter is deciding whom they will extend an invitation to join or a bid°. The final choice is up to you. You decide which chapter makes you comfortable.

National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC) and Unified Greek Council (UGC) organizations do not participate in formal membership recruitment, instead each individual organization holds interest sessions during the year. An NPHC Information Night is held at the beginning of each semester to let students know about the fraternities and sororities within NPHC.

Message from the
GREEK ADVISOR

Dear Future Bulls:

First, congratulations on your first great decision at USF…seeking out information on extra-curricular activities and Greek Life.

Fraternity and sorority involvement will offer you opportunities for scholastic achievement, philanthropic and community service activities, leadership positions, athletic competition, and social growth. Joining the Greek community will open doors to you for interacting with faculty and staff on campus, networking through fraternity and sorority alumni, and establishing friendships with other students that will last a lifetime.

It is important to remember that each chapter has something unique and special to offer. The chapter you choose could become your home away from home and should be a place where you feel both comfortable and challenged to make the most of your college career.

Formal recruitment may seem like a hectic time for trying to make such an important decision, however there are many resources here to help you. Feel free to call the Office of Greek Life at (813) 974-7335 for more information. Good luck and welcome to the University of South Florida!
