| April 29 -- All the hard work paid off for
the USF quiz bowl team as it clinched its first
major victory*, becoming the Division II
champions at the University of Tennessee
Chattanooga Moon Pie Classic tournament. The
tournament was a packet submission mACF format. Twenty-three
teams in two divisions competed in the
tournament. At the end of the day, USF emerged
with a 10-1 record, tying FCC - Jacksonville. In
a dramatic two rounds of overtime, USF beat FCCJ
to win the Division II trophy.
Individually, the USF players stood out as
well. Team captain Rob Fernandez won fourth place
in the individual standings.
The following day's RC Cola trash tournament
was not as successful, but the USF: Special
Victims Unit team came in a respectable
fourth place with a winning record in its
division. This was USF's first-ever TRASH**
tournament.
