April 29 -- All the hard work paid off for the USF quiz bowl team as it clinched its first major victory*, becoming the Division II champions at the University of Tennessee Chattanooga Moon Pie Classic tournament. The tournament was a packet submission mACF format.

Twenty-three teams in two divisions competed in the tournament. At the end of the day, USF emerged with a 10-1 record, tying FCC - Jacksonville. In a dramatic two rounds of overtime, USF beat FCCJ to win the Division II trophy.

Individually, the USF players stood out as well. Team captain Rob Fernandez won fourth place in the individual standings.

The following day's RC Cola trash tournament was not as successful, but the USF: Special Victims Unit team came in a respectable fourth place with a winning record in its division. This was USF's first-ever TRASH** tournament.
