About Our Club
The Karate Club at the University of South Florida in
Tampa, Florida, is the oldest active martial arts club on campus. Founded in 1963, we
train and test under the South Atlantic Karate Association (SAKA), a division of the
International Shotokan Karate Federation (ISKF). ISKF is the international representative
of the Japan Karate Association/World Federation (JKA/WF).
The Karate Club at USF is headed by instructor Eric
Holden, 3rd Dan, JKA. Mr. Holden has been involved
with Shotokan Karate at USF for over ten years. He
also teaches the college-credit beginner and intermediate
karate classes as well as the self-defense class offered
by the University.
