Thank You From Greco Middle School

Kudos to USF for inviting Spike Lee to speak in the Lecture Series. My 8th grade students truly enjoyed the lecture and the opportunity to be recognized by Spike for their accomplishments. It was an evening they will not soon forget. Thank you for offering these lectures to the community.
Dr. Maya Angelou sent us two poems she read during her lecture

A Brave and Startling Truth, written by Maya Angelou. Dedicated to the hope for peace, which lies, sometimes hidden, in every heart.

I am still feeling the warmth and excitement of last night-Wow! Dr. Maya Angelou. If any of you students and community of Tampa missed this event, my heart is heavy for you. After reading her work for the past thirty years, I found that listening to her speak brought forth the same feelings of privileged honor, and tender soothing, only intensified by the richness of her deep, rich voice. Thank you Sister. Thank you USF.

I sure had a wonderful time at USF in Tampa. Everyone I met was friendly and I could tell the audience really cared about wildlife and conservation. Thanks for inviting me!

A New Website, A New Address, Blogging!?!? What Happened To The Old ULS?!!?
June 12, 2007
These times are a-changing! Welcome to the new University Lecture Series website, kind of our new beginning. I'm not trying to say that our old times were bad... they were actually really good. Last year, we sparked a lot of controversy with Ann Coulter (who is really different backstage than she is on camera), found inspiration with the Rev. Jesse Jackson, and had a 1,000-person sing-a-long with Anthony Rapp. Definitely good times! But now we are looking ahead to what could be a blockbuster year with ULS (not Joe Vs. The Volcano big... I'm talking HUGE)! Anywho, please take some time and check out this new home of ours. We will continue to update once new information comes through our office. Also, please, please, PLEASE vote for next year's speakers. We have a great list and need help narrowing it down! You can find the survey at http://ctr.usf.edu/uls/forms/ulspoll.asp. If you want us to add something, or answer any burning questions, send us an e-mail from the Contact/Comment page. Until then, Always Speak Freely...
