Community Service Federal Work-Study

Applications are currently being accepted for the following positions for the 2007-2008 year:

America Reads Tutor: These tutors commit for the school year and tutor elementary school students (Grades K-3) in reading. Work individually with struggling readers at nearby elementary schools. Tutors work 10-15 hours per week (hours available to work 8:00-2:00 pm , Monday-Friday.)

AmeriCorps Hillsborough Reads: This position is similar to the America Reads position; however, each AmeriCorps tutor agrees to complete a minimum of 300 hours of service during the academic year. AmeriCorps tutors are paid hourly as well and receive an additional $1,000.00 education voucher at the completion of their service.

Teacher Assistant Position at Academy Prep: Academy Prep is a not-for-profit, private middle school located in Ybor City. You will be matched with a teacher and class and assist them in every way possible. Your duties include tutoring children as well as assisting a class with their extracurricular activities. Hours available to work are 8am-6pm.
