About Us

We are...

A sport club at USF

The Women's Rugby Football Club at the University of South Florida was created in 2002 to serve as the primary rugby club for women of the USF area and to promote USF in regional, national and international competition. As a registered USF organization, we receive support from Student Activities. We are allowed to use USF fields and facilities to meet and practice, and student government supports us with a small budget every year. Also, as a club team, there are no cuts! So if you come to practice, you are on the team!

A registered Women's Collegiate team with the USA Rugby Union

As a registered team with USA Rugby, we fall under the jurisdiction of the Florida Rugby Union (FRU). FRU schedules our official matches, however we may schedule our own scrimmages, for extra practice. We play in the women's collegiate division; playing other teams in Florida, as well as some in other states. In both the Fall and Spring terms, there are tournaments and State Cup games. Because we are a part of USA Rugby, each player must be registered to participate in any of the games.

How to Become CIPP Registered

Before playing in a game, every member must complete the CIPP registration. CIPP registers you with the USA Rugby organization and serves as a liability wavier and protection against getting sued. Below are the step-by-step instructions. If you are registering shortly before a game (less than 2 days) you will want to write down your CIPP number (which will be e-mailed to you) and give it to Alex Harris.
