Q: What if I don't know how to play?
A: It's okay, neither did we before we went out to practice. Think about it, did you have a rugby team at your high school? Probably not, we are just now starting to put rugby in grade schools. So, no one really comes to college with rugby experience. If you're interested, come out to practice and we will tell you everything you need to know
Q: Am I too small to play rugby?
A: We range in height from 4'11 to 6'2, there is a position for every size. No one is too small for rugby! In fact, the shorter you are, the easier it is to tackle because you're closer to your opponents knees!
Q: Who do you play against?
A: In the Fall, we play against teams in Florida to ultimately win the Florida Cup Championship. In the Spring, we compete for the National Championship, playing teams all over the country.
Q: Will I get hurt?
A: Every sport runs the risk of injury. In rugby, there is a proper way to do everything so that you reduce the risk of injuries.
Q: Are there tryouts?
A: Not at all. We are a sport club, we are not part of the NCAA and are not on scholarship. So, if you come out to practice and play with us, you are automatically part of the team.
